Many people believe that a raw food diet is essential to health, well-being, and vitality. The belief behind the raw food diet is that when food is cooked, essential vitamins and minerals are depleted from the food, which are so important for the body and all of its functions. Years ago it was necessary to cook meat for the elimination of diseases. This practice of cooking food became popular with all types of food, even though there was no chance of getting a disease or illness from vegetables or other types of fresh foods.
In a society where we value saving time, it is no wonder that fast food restaurants and processed foods are so popular. Even ‘sit-down’ restaurants add excessive fat, calories, and salt to make the food more pleasing to the palate. Unfortunately, many diseases today can be contributed to a poor diet. Yet, the reality is that when a person is trying to prevent or fight a disease of any type, giving the body the best, most nutritious food is paramount.
While there is no one cure for any disease, taking a look at the diet is a good place to start. It is currently estimated that 1-2% of children in the United States has epilepsy. From the time a child is conceived, that child is exposed to toxins from the food eaten by the mother. Not long after being born, many children are on a diet of high fat, sugar-laden foods. If these toxins were to be eliminated, the thought is that the diseases would be eliminated as well.
Stopping Epilepsy With a Raw Food Diet
One young lady who was diagnosed with epilepsy heard about the raw food diet and decided to try it to see if it would work for her. Although she was a vegetarian, she did eat soy products. After changing her diet to raw foods without soy products, she no longer had seizures. She also began juicing, which many people on a raw food diet believe is a great way to get the nutrients from the food to easily absorb in the body.
In addition to juicing, the young lady ate a wholesome diet consisting of fruits, vegetables, and nuts. When talking about how she felt after changing her diet, she said that she felt “pretty amazing.” Being seizure free most likely added to her sense of well-being.
While changing the diet may not help everyone to get rid of seizures, raw foods for epilepsy could be an easy way to try and see if the body responds to it. There is little preparation, no cooking, most of the foods just need to be washed, and there is very little cleanup. Even if this diet does not stop the seizures, it will benefit the body in many other ways. What a nice alternative this could be to the constant intake of medicine.
