If you’ve read any of my previous articles then you know how much I promote, use and enjoy products or services that accomplish many things, as opposed to only one. I’ve been writing a lot about working on specific skills at home, because I know two things: how beneficial it is and how realistic it is. Usually, it is the idea of ‘realistic’ that people wrestle with, so it is with much excitement that I’m talking again about TOOBEEZ.
TOOBEEZ are like giant connects and the possibilities for using them are endless. I hesitate to say you even need imagination, as there are so many activity ideas provided you’ll never need to come up with your own. That isn’t an issue though, because once you visit the site and see what I’m talking about, you’ll be flooded with pictures of your child playing with them and, again, you won’t lack for ideas.

If you’ve ever watched a therapy session, primarily occupational or physical therapy in particular, then you may have noticed the equipment used when working on certain goals. Often you see items you can purchase for home. At the minimum, you can reproduce the results by using materials accessible to everyone (versus a professional therapy catalogue).
The reason this toy is one of my all-time top picks of late, is really because of the many ways you can use it, similar to (or exactly the same as) therapy goals. The tubes that connect are life size, so the entire body can be used when playing. Additionally, intangible concepts such as teamwork, cooperation and concentration can be targeted as well. These are just a few ideas provided by TOOBEEZ and, I can’t believe I didn’t mention this earlier, the company has an entire section already dedicated to children with special needs.
The even better part is that the toy is for all children; not a toy designed for any specific population and inclusiveness should apply everywhere right? I talk a lot about marketing to parents of children with special needs and this company gets two thumbs up from me. If it didn’t, I wouldn’t be linking you to it.
Many of our children need activities to help them make, keep and interact with friends. A toy like this promotes interaction and allows for parallel play at the same time. It’s also great because age doesn’t matter. It is definitely one of the few toys you will actually enjoy playing with and this makes it so much easier. I cringe when my son brings me certain games to play; this isn’t one of those kind!
In all honesty, I could sit here and try to describe the countless uses and activity ideas, but you will be best off taking a peak for yourself. As soon as you see the home page you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. They are also conveniently packaged, which is important to mothers’ not so much the children. The kids care about fun, we care about teaching while having fun, and TOOBEEZ allows for all of that to happen naturally.
The holidays are coming quickly and this would make an extraordinary gift. Even if you are done with your shopping (I envy you greatly if you are), then consider the purchase anyway, since it’s more then a toy and can be used indefinitely.
