Vaccines in Court Again

Vaccinations are a controversial topic, so many people are watching the latest court case involving a child injured from vaccines.

This case involves a child born in 1974 and the vaccination being discussed is the DTP, which has been altered since that time.

As expected, those arguing vaccines are safe, assert the child had a pre-existing condition that predisposed the child to having an adverse affect and subsequently autism, in addition to other neurological injuries.

Parents who believe in the vaccine:autism connection, share similar stories of their child developing normally then regressing after being vaccinated.  Some parents call this vaccine-induced autism.

Other parents report their normally developing child became ill after being vaccinated and subsequently regressed over time.

Much has been made about the mercury (Thimerosal) in vaccines from both sides of this debate.  Parents claim, and there are professionals who support the idea, that autism is a result of Thimerosal.  Opposing persons claim autism cannot be from Thimerosal because it has been removed and the number of cases being diagnosed is increasing.

Another argument is that autism is a neuro-immunological disorder, and children regress when repeatedly vaccinated because their immune system is dysfunctional, and not able to handle the numerous insults.  The implications of this on the brain are complex but validated through scientific research.

I personally believe my son's autism is "vaccine-induced".  I cannot say to what degree Thimerosal in itself played, but I do believe it made matters worse (and that's an understatement).

I'm interested if anyone here has an opinion on this matter they would care to share.  If so, please post it below.
