Our 11 year old sonJacob hasbeen diagnosed with medically intractableepilepsy.(Complex Partials)He has been having seizures for about three years and is now 11 years old. We have been on three different medications starting with Lamical, Trileptal and now a Keppra /Dilantin combo without sucess.
We were recently evaluated for surgery and although he is a possible candidate we are now trying the MOD atkins diet on our own. Ithas beenvery managble thus far and we are 18 days without a convulsive or dropsiezure, althoughwe still see an occasional e blank stare.
So far we are amazedandheis sleeping longer and is much brighter during the day. We saw immediare results since he was seizing 4-12 times a weeks
So farwe are amazed and hopeful…
